No particles no fog
This movie was made onboard the ice breaker “Oden” during the ASCOS 200 expedition to Artic (Location:Artic 87,5 degrees North).
Outside temperature -8 degrees C. Particle concentration below 10 cm-3 (more than 100 times smaller than on the continents)
Without particles fog droplets cannot form (Demonstration with a cup of hot tea and lighter)
Tiny particles from the lighter act as seeds onto which the water vapour condenses forming the mistfog above the hot cup of tea.
